FIELD: catalytic chemistry. SUBSTANCE: catalyst is prepared by mixing zeolite suspension of pentasil type (40-150 g/l) followed by bead forming in the medium of mineral oil, their ionic exchange with aqueous solutions of ammonium salt and zinc salt at the mass ratio: bead and ammonium salt 1: (0.5-1.6) and bead and zinc salt 1:(0.03-0.13) as zinc oxide, drying and calcination. Under these conditions catalyst activity is increased as compared with that of zeocar-2 (gasoline yield is increased from 85 to 97.2% temperature is decreased by 15 C, aromatic compound content in catalysate is increased from 29.6% to 36%). Mechanical strength of catalyst (for abrasion in air lift) is improved from 3.3-3.8 to 4-6 mas. x mas.% h-1. EFFECT: enhanced activity and mechanical strength. 1 tbl
