FIELD: organic chemistry. SUBSTANCE: synthesis is carried out by treatment of 5,6-di-chloroacenaphthene with aliphatic C1-C4-alcohol, carbonylating of parent product with carbon monoxide in the medium of solvent - excess of indicated alcohol or its mixture with water or acetone or tetrahydrofurane or toluene at 20-80 C under 1-5 atm preparing corresponding ester - dialkyldiester of 5,6-acenaphthene dicarboxylic acid and alkyl ester of 6-chloro-5-acenaphthene carboxylic acid which are treated firstly with aqueous alkali solution and then - with HCl. Process is carried out in the presence of catalyst - metal complex with use of the base - carbonate or oxide hydrate of alkaline or alkaline-earth metal. Catalyst: cobalt carbonyl or alkaline metal salt of cobalt hydrocarbonyl at concentration of cobalt 0.1-10.0% on the based of 5,6-dichloroacenaphthene with addition of organic halogenide RHal, where R - ArCHR′ at R′- H,CH3 and Ar - C6H5, п-Alk1-4C6H4, п-HalC6H4. Yield is 14.0-54.5%. EFFECT: simplified process. 2 tbl
