FIELD: welding. SUBSTANCE: pipe end faces are prepared before welding. If thickness of edges is less than 8 mm, angle of vee should be α = (180-Kδ) where K - is empirically determined coefficient, K = 10-14, δ-thickness of wall. Shoulder D = 1,0+0,5 δ. If thickness of wall exceeds 8 mm, α = 90°, Δ = 5 mm. After through penetration, gas dynamic pressure on pool is increased by value from 2 to 14 times greater than working gas pressure. Under action of this pressure surface of weld back becomes convex. This process provides required geometry of welds. EFFECT: enhanced quality of weld joint. 5 cl, 7 dwg
