FIELD: catalytic chemistry. SUBSTANCE: process is carried out by addition of palladium salt and pyridine derivative to the aqueous solution of molybdovanadophosphoric heteropoly acid. The source of latter is an acid salt of composition given in description. Initial components are taken at the ratio providing catalyst preparing containing, mole/l: palladium salt 10-4-1,5·10-2, pyridine derivative 10-4-4,5·10-2, acid salt of molybdovanadophosphoric acid 0.05-0.3, and water - up to 1 l. Use of a new catalyst ensures to increase the rate of oxygen reaction by 2-fold. EFFECT: enhanced activity of catalyst in oxygen reaction, decreased sediment formation. 3 cl, 2 tbl
