CATALYST AND METHYL ETHYL KETONE PRODUCTION PROCESS Russian patent published in 2004 - IPC

Abstract RU 2230612 C1

FIELD: industrial organic synthesis.

SUBSTANCE: methyl ethyl ketone is produced via oxidation of n-butenes with oxygen and/or oxygen-containing gas in presence of catalytic system composed of aqueous solution of molybdeno-vanado-phosphoric heteropolyacid or heteropolyacid mixture and/or their salts as well as palladium in concentration 5·10-4-1·10-2 M stabilized with phthalocyanine ligand Pc at molar ratio [Pd]/[Pc] = 0.5 to 2. Mo-V-phosphoric acid is expressed by empiric formula HaPxMoyVzOb wherein and a=2b-6y-5(x+z). Concentration of vanadium in aqueous solution of heteropolyacid or their salt is 0.4 to 2.2 g-atom/l. Oxidation of n-butenes is accomplished in a double-step batch mode wherein oxidation reaction is conducted over the temperature range 15 to 90оС and catalyst is regenerated by affecting it with oxygen or oxygen-containing gas over the temperature range 140 to 190оС at oxygen pressure 1 to 10 atm.

EFFECT: enhanced process efficiency due to more stabilized catalyst components.
