FIELD: electrical engineering. SUBSTANCE: electrostatic stepping motor is composed of cylindrical dielectric stator with system of electrodes arranged in pairs diametrically opposite and connected to poles of voltage source through thyristor control system in which point of connection of cathode of each thyristor to proper electrode of stator is coupled to controlling electrode of next thyristor in direction of rotation of rotor and point of connection of last thyristor to proper electrode of stator is linked to controlling electrode of first thyristor. With supply of pulse voltage to system of electrodes of motor thyristor connected to electrodes between which in given position of laminated rotor placed in liquid crystal substance filling space of stator and gaps between laminations of rotor is first driven to conduction. As a result unblanking potential across controlling electrode of next thyristor and voltage across next pair of electrodes are formed. Rotor turns.
