FIELD: electrical engineering. SUBSTANCE: electrostatic motor has dielectric frame with system of electrodes. With supply of three-phase voltage to electrodes rotating electrostatic field is formed. Field orients molecular layers of liquid crystal substance present in gaps between lamination of rotor and outside of it. When field rotates layers follow after it and acting on laminations impart torque to rotor. Summing of torques of layers enables total moment of rotor to be enhanced and consequently power of motor to be increased several times as compared with prototype of same dimensions.
