FIELD: cutting of nonmetal materials. SUBSTANCE: device has hollow cylindrical body 1 with jaws 2 along generating line. Slot nozzle 4 is formed means of restoring compensators 3 on ends of jaws 2. Electric discharge electrodes and one electrode of discharge former are located inside space of body. Body is the other electrode of former. Slot nozzle is directed on material to be cut and power supply is switched on. Water comes into space of body 1 over hose 17 and fills it forming electric contact between body and electrode of discharge former. With this control circuit which initiates discharge between main electrodes closes. High-pressure shock wave moves jaws 2 aside. Slot nozzle 4 is formed between them and water is ejected by thin jet from space of body 1 cutting material and taking away intermediate particles.
