FIELD: inorganic chemistry. SUBSTANCE: method involves extraction of cesium and strontium from nitric acid solutions with a mixture of 0.1-0.33 mole/l chlorinated cobalt dicarbollide and 0.015-0.1 mole/l substituted polyethylene glycol in 1,1,2,2,12,12,13,13-octafluoro-4,7,10-trioxatridecane. Extraction mixture shows simplified composition as compared with prototype (three components instead of four ones). Capacity by cesium is increased by 3-5 times, loss of solvent is decreased by 2.5-3.6 times. Method can be used in processing of radioactive waste and for analytical assay of cesium and strontium.
