FIELD: metallurgy, manufacture of slab-type and bar bimetallic ingots of rectangular cross section from different grades of steel. SUBSTANCE: method of continuous horizontal casting of bimetallic ingots involves feeding cladding metal to crystallizer at a static pressure in alloying zone being equal to 0.5-2.0 of static pressure of basic metal on the level of top face of workpiece. In the device for realization of the method distance between axes of metal ducts is equal to 1-20 of height of crystallizer for basic metal. Metal duct for cladding metal is deepened into the inside of end plane of wall of crystallizer to 0.05-0.50 of thickness of wall of metal duct. EFFECT: improved quality of ingots obtained by means of elimination of alloying defects. 2 cl, 1 tbl, 1 dwg
