FIELD: electronic devices. SUBSTANCE: straight-channel cathode assembly has a cathode in the form of a ribbon of rhenium alloy folded in a bellows, coated with a layer of alkaline-earth metal aluminate 2,3; the ribbon rib is perpendicular to the end of the cathode assembly, the bellows is placed in ceramic holder 4 and fixed by means of two wire current-conducting supports 5. As compared with the known directly heated cathode assemblies with a service life up to 2000 hours, the offered assembly has a service life of at least 10,000h, lower power and smaller dimensions. EFFECT: enhanced durability, efficiency and reduced readiness time of cathode assembly. 2 dwg
