FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to structural elements of electron-beam devices, using as an electron source direct-heated hot cathodes (hereinafter – cathodes) in the form of rectilinear sections of wire of round, rectangular or other cross-section. In cathode assembly of electron gun with linear direct-heated cathode, connected by ends with flat springs, springs on the movable end have a cutout and a hole located at distance of (0.3–3)t from the cutout, where t is the width of the spring, wherein the end of the cathode behind the cutout is bent, passed through the hole and bent again. Cutout can have a triangular, rectangular or semi-circular shape.
EFFECT: increased accuracy of cathode installation, reduced labour costs for cathode preparation for installation and its installation, increased uniformity of emission current from cathode surface along its length, increased stability of characteristics of electron gun.
