FIELD: acceleration engineering. SUBSTANCE: linear accelerator has microwave oscillator connected through directional coupler 4 to inputs of accelerating section 2 and delay line 3 whose outputs are connected to high-frequency bridge 5 connected through feedback circuit to directional coupler 4. Delay line 3 and high-frequency bridge 5 newly introduced in accelerator provide for reduction of high-frequency power loss and in case pulse length of oscillator 1 makes up 2-3 of time required to fill up accelerating section, accelerator efficiency increases. EFFECT: improved efficiency of linear accelerator. 1 dwg
