FIELD: radiation chemistry, activation analyses, nuclear physics, fundamental investigations in high-energy physics, etc. SUBSTANCE: accelerator has high- frequency power supply 1 connected to first arm of circulator 2 whose second arm is series-connected to high-frequency power switch 3 and first arm of circulator 4. Second arm of the latter is connected to input of delay line 5 whose output is series-connected to second high-frequency power switch 6 and first arm of directional coupler 7. Loose arms of circulators 2 and 4 are connected to adjacent arms of bridge 8 whose third arm is connected to second arm of directional coupler 7. Third arm of the latter is connected to input of accelerating section 9. Loose arms of bridge 8 and directional coupler 7 are connected to absorbing loads 10,11. Control device 12 functions to control operation of high-frequency power supply 1 and switches 3,6. Power picked off high-frequency oscillator 1 and power of high-frequency wave arriving from delay line 5 are added in device. EFFECT: improved energy of accelerated particles of beam at output of linear accelerator due to increased microwave pulse power at output of accelerating section. 1 dwg
