FIELD: biological decontamination of waste water. SUBSTANCE: biological reactor incorporating bank of successively positioned sections houses end portion composed of centrally disposed rod with grids carrying elemental sulfur and bristle scourers made of inert material. Reaction was conducted in two steps by introducing microorganism primer containing sulfate-reducing bacteria in presence of bacteria growth stimulant. Elemental sulfur was used as sulfate reducer growth stimulant and fermented precipitate from secondary sedimentation reservoirs as microorganism primer. EFFECT: greater purity of water freed of sulfates and organic contaminants plus saved time needed for decontaminating certain amount of waste water. 3 dwg, 1 tbl
