FIELD: production of high-temperature superconductors. SUBSTANCE: yttrium, barium carbonate, and copper oxides are dissolved in nitrous acid. Nitric acid solution obtained is evaporated. Upon precipitation, water is added to solution and products of first evaporation are dissolved. Upon full solution, evaporation is carried out again until dry residue is obtained which is dried out at 200-300 C. Then dry residue is divided into several parts and heated at a rate of 25 deg./min to 890, 925, and 995 C. As a result, superconducting powder of YBa2Cu3O7-x composition partially packed in porous dry granules of different size is produced. Upon rubbing granules in agate mortar for 1-2 minutes, high-quality superconducting powder is produced with grains of size 0.1- 0.2 mcm making up 60% EFFECT: improved quality of powder obtained. 1 tbl
