FIELD: metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: process includes feeding of metal into crystallizer, extraction of ingot out of it, feeding of slag mixture to metal meniscus in crystallizer, support and guidance of ingot with the aid of rollers, cooling of surface of ingot with coolant sprayed with nozzles, measurement of temperature of surface of ingot, removal of scale from surface of ingot. In process of continuous casting scale is removed periodically in 0.5-10.0 min and temperature of surface of ingot is taken with scale and after its removal, obtained magnitudes of temperature are compared and if they deviate from optimum value of temperature difference within limits of 40-60 C velocity of pulling of ingot is changed by 3-5% from working value per each 4-6 C of deviation of specified temperature difference from optimum value. With increase of difference exceeding 40-60 C velocity of pulling of ingot is enhanced and with reduction of difference below 40-60 C it is diminished.
