FIELD: chemistry; oil processing. SUBSTANCE: method involves mixing crude silica with aluminium hydroxide in mass proportion (1-2):1, and crude calcium aluminate in the amount of 25-45% of carrier mass plasticizing and lubricating with burning out additives mainly graphite and polyvinyl alcohol. The carrier is formed and processed in steam or steam condensate medium at 85-95 C during 2-4 h. The carrier is calcined at hibbenite BF Al12CaO19 formation temperature preferentially at 1450-1550 C and impregnated with nickel and aluminium nitrate solution. The catalyst is dried and heat-treated. EFFECT: enhanced effectiveness of hydrocarbons steam conversion. 2 cl, 3 tbl
