FIELD: conversion of hydrocarbons. SUBSTANCE: method consists in preparation of carrier through mixing alumina, aluminium hydroxide, commercial calcium aluminate, introducing aqueous solution of plasticizing burning additive, molding, air-drying, head treatment of carrier in water steam at pressure of 1 to 2 atm and temperature of 150 to 170 C followed by drying at temperature rise in drying zone to 120 C at rate of 40 to 60 C per day and keeping the carrier at this temperature, calcination of carrier at 1450 to 1500 C followed by impregnation of carrier with nickel and aluminum nitrate solutions, drying and heat treatment of catalyst mass; prior to molding, reaction mass is kept for 10 to 60 min and molding is effected on rotary granulator at moisture content of mass from 20 to 30%, molding pressure of from 20 to 40 atm and rotational speed of rotor of 5 to 20 r/min.
