ANGLE STOMATOLOGIC HEAD Russian patent published in 1996 - IPC

FIELD: medical facilities. SUBSTANCE: angle stomatologic head has clamping chuck in form of hollow shaft whose inside accommodates cylindrical bushing with central hole for tool and having longitudinal grooves on the side of button located in cover. Besides, bushing has internal supporting plane, annular recess and clamping section. When button is pushed, its central rod with its taper end moves apart bushing lugs in radial direction. In so doing, the hole of clamping section extends and let the tool to freely move up to stop of supporting plane. After that the bottom is released and returns to its initial position and frees the bushing lugs which contract due to resilience forces to axis and lock the tool. In the second version of the head design, central rod, with button pushed, passes through outlet hole of hollow shaft and pushes down a ball which moves apart the bushing lugs in radial direction to increase the hole of clamping section up to position for free passage of tool up to ball. When button is released, it returns to its initial position, bushing lugs, due to elasticity forces, become compressed to axis and push out the ball to its top position and clamp the tool.
