FIELD: aeronautical engineering. SUBSTANCE: ramjet engine has housing 1 of rectangular cross section mounted under aircraft wing 39 and cowling 5 of box-shaped cross section whose vertical walls are received by longitudinal grooves of housing 1 made on its side directed towards ram flow and formed by compression panel 2, gas expansion panel 3 and panel of combustion chamber. Movable cowling 5 forms together with housing 1 gas-air passage of engine with varying area of rectangular section. Motion of cowling 5 is effected by means of three pairs of screw jacks articulated on panel of combustion chamber whose motion screws are linked with upper parts of lateral vertical walls of cowling 5. Interior of housing together with control system of movable cowling and fuel system is sealed up to avoid penetration of pressure of high-temperature gases; sealing up is effected by means of spring-loaded inserts engageable with lateral walls and slide blocks received by grooves closing their open sections formed due to longitudinal motion of cowling on side of leading and trailing edges of its lateral walls. EFFECT: enhanced reliability and efficiency under all flying conditions. 2 cl, 15 dwg
