FIELD: marine seismic exploration. SUBSTANCE: channel is made in ice cover which is cleaned of ice by turning the ship through 180 deg. Then seismic converters are towed in this channel. Speed of the ship is selected depending on length of seismic profile and thickness of ice. Then signals registered are subjected to processing to exclude noise produced by operation of ship's propellers and noise produced by breaking the ice by ship's hull.
