FIELD: optical instrument engineering.
SUBSTANCE: mirror can be used for optical mirrors having minimal weight and highly stable shape of optical surface. Base of mirror is made of composite material reinforced by continuous high-molecular fibers. Layer with reflecting surface is connected with base. There are cavities in the base. Walls of cavities are made in form of continuous ribs. Directions of ribs coincide with directions of fibers' orientation in plane being perpendicular to optical axis of mirror. Fibrous composite plate is inseparably attached to the rear side of carrier base.
EFFECT: reduced weight.
