FIELD: radio engineering, applicable in radio detection and ranging, radio astronomy, radio communication and measuring equipment, and is designed for detection of the angular co-ordinate of a radio radiation source.
SUBSTANCE: the method is based on formation of a series of time samples of signals from the receiving channels of the phased array elements in vertical, measurement of the position of the spectrum maximum of this series, according to its value, the angular co-ordinate is determined, an additional series of time signals from the receiving channels of the phased array elements in vertical is formed, both series of the samples are separated from one other by a time interval, whose duration is proportional to the distance between the lower element of the phased array and the ground surface, and the angular co-ordinate is measured according to the position of the signal spectrum maximum separated by the time interval.
EFFECT: improved accuracy of measurement of the angular co-ordinate, antijam capability against active and passive jammings, and enhanced range of the measured elevation angles in the area of the lower edge of the detection zone.
