FIELD: vibration dampers.

SUBSTANCE: proposed vibration damper for SPC cables used in towing of submerged objects contains damping parts connected to SPC cable. Said parts are made in form of double-curvature similar loops of cable whose diameter is 3-4 times less than diameter of SPC cable. Loop cable is enclosed in elastic sheathing and is wound on SPC cable, length of each loop being equal to length of standing half-wave of SPC cable. Loop cable is secured on SPC cable in points corresponding to nodes of said half-waves.

EFFECT: improved efficiency of vibration damping and reliability.
