FIELD: organic synthesis.
SUBSTANCE: bis(chloroximino)acetone is prepared from dioximinoacetone, which is treated with mixture of aqueous hydrochloric acid and sodium hypochlorite aqueous solution at dioximinoacetone/sodium hypochlorite/hydrochloric acid molar ratio 1.0:(2.0-2.5):(2.0-2.5).
