FIELD: technological processes; physics.

SUBSTANCE: method of nondestructive check of strength of thin-walled metal items consists in the following: prior to item loading points (sections) of maximum stresses. On this section single-coil string perimeter meter is installed with preliminary string tension. Item is loaded mechanically, deformation and stress are determined in circumferential direction, strength of investigated item is determined. Besides, at least a pair of additional coils that are wound on item, which are wound symmetrically in relation to the central ones with pitch that is proportional to the wall thickness of controlled item. Integral elastic deformation and efficient module of lateral elasticity are determined, and actual strength of item is assessed by the following ratio: were K - coefficient of stressed condition and items form; Eef - efficient module of lateral elasticity; R - universal gas constant; T -absolute temperature of test °K; λe - coefficient of thermal expansion 1/°K; U0 - actual energy of destruction activation.

EFFECT: increase of strength control accuracy and preservation of operational properties of controlled item after tests.
