FIELD: nondestructive strength testing.
SUBSTANCE: method comprises loading article and determining strain and stress in the cross-section with minimum stress. The turns of the string of the instrument for measuring perimeter are wound on the article so that intermediate turn is in the plane of the cross-section and two other turns are arranged symmetrically to the intermediate turn. The integral deformation in the cross-section is determined, which gives the value of the effective modulus of longitudinal elasticity of the article material. The value of strength is inferred from the equation proposed. The article is additionally loaded in the elastic-plastic region, in intervals multiple to the destroying effective stress. The value of the plastic deformation is fixed at each stage.
EFFECT: enhanced reliability.
