FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to automatic devices used for laser location and determining the position and orientation of objects in space. The optical system comprises a lens (2), a quadrant photodetector (4) and a diaphragm (3), arranged in series on one optical axis and optically interfaced. The diaphragm (3) is placed in the front principal plane of the lens (2). The diaphragm (3) has a transmission area in the form of a square with a side calculated based on the size of the side of the photodetector (4) quadrant, the viewing angle of the lens (2) and the focal distance of the lens (2). The sides of the transmission area of the diaphragm (3) are parallel to the sides of the photodetector (4) quadrants. The photodetector (4) is placed at a distance from the rear principal plane of the lens (2) which is calculated based on the size of the side of the photodetector (4) quadrant and the viewing angle of the lens (2).
EFFECT: higher accuracy of determining coordinates owing to higher stability of the curvature of the direction finding characteristic.
