FIELD: metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: device determining relief and level of surface of materials has two sources of ionizing radiation manufactured with slot collimators and mechanisms shutting off radiation flux placed immobile in one plane and positioned diametrically opposite, collimated detector of ionizing radiation mounted for turning about two mutually perpendicular axes one of which lies in plane of positioning of source and fitted with mechanism of its turn about axes, pickup of engular orientation of detector of ionizing radiation, computing-solving unit and registering equipment connected in series. For expansion of range of checked sections of surface relief device is equipped additionally with two sources of ionizing radiation menufactured in similarity to basic ones mounted immobile in plane of arrangement of basic sources (all sources are placed on circumference at equal distances from each other), detector of ionizing radiation analogous to basic one installed inj plane of basic and additional sources over circumference at equal distances from adjacent sources and diametrically opposite to basic detector equidistandly located from adjacent sources of other pair and with pickup of angular orientation connected to second input of computing-solving unit, switching unit which outputs are connected to mechanism of sgutting off fluxes of each source of ionising radiation and mechanism to turn each detector of ionizing radiation. Inputs of swiching unit are connected to pickups of angular orientation. EFFECT: expanded range of checked sections of surfaces.
