FIELD: metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: gate valve for the blast furnace blast heater has a lined body with a cover and a cooled lined hollow disk. The disk has a shell defined by two circular side members and disposed within the cooling cavity of a curvilinear side guide means. The disk also has inclined partitions and an insert. The insert is disposed in a region of the disk cavity which is defined by the shell, the side members and the guide means. The inert is being equidistantly remote from the inner surface of the disk. The length of the insert is equal to 0,6-0,8 of the length of the guide means. An upper end of the insert being apart from the upper end of the guide means at a distance equal to 0,25-0,3 of the length of the insert. Both the distance between the lower partition and the guide means and the distance between the upper partition and the guide means are equal to 0,5-0,7 of the step between the partitions.
