FIELD: water electrolysis method and apparatus. SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of feeding an electrolyte to electrodes, agitating the electrolyte in interelectrode space, dissociation of water to oxygen and hydrogen by action of direct electric current and removal of gases, had been produced. Agitation of the electrolyte in the interelectrode space is being performed by pressure pulsations at least of one of the gases, being produced at the process of water electrolysis. Installation for electrolysis of water has an apparatus for agitating the electrolyte in the interelectrode space in the form of membrane controller, having a spring and provided by an additional spring, jointly connected by its one side with a rod of the membrane and by its other side - with a body of the controller in such a way, that axis of neutral position of the additional spring is normal to an axis of the main spring of the membrane controller.
