METHOD FOR SURGICAL CORRECTION OF MASTOPTOSIS OF 1ST AND 2ND DEGREE FROM PARAAREOLAR ACCESS Russian patent published in 1994 - IPC

FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves marking paraareaolar incision and boundaries of ellipsoidal paraareolar deepithelization on the skin of mammary gland, choosing individually the size of incision which makes it possible to crimp the skin of mammary gland uniformly towards areola. All manipulations on glandular tissue are performed subcutaneously (sectorial resection when reducing the size of mammary gland or sinking the lower segments when retaining it) after separation of skin above lower segments up to pectoral fascia. This dispenses with the necessity for making incisions and applying sutures to gland skin thus producing an optimum cosmetic effect since the sutures are disposed only along the edge of areola while the opportunity of making both sectorial resection and sinking glandular tissue from this access to retain the size of the gland broadens indications for this operation, rendering it advisable in 1st and 2nd degrees of mastoptosis. EFFECT: social and psychological rehabilitation of women achieved by obtaining optimum cosmetic effect from reconstructing and plastic operations on mammary gland in connection with mastoptosis of 1st and 2nd degrees. 1 cl
