METHOD OF PREPARING OF MICROORGANISM STRAIN - A PRODUCER OF BACITRACIN Russian patent published in 1994 - IPC

Abstract RU 2007457 C1

FIELD: microbiology, antibiotics. SUBSTANCE: method of preparing of high-active microorganism strains - producers of bacitracin - involves irradiation of Bacillus licheniformis culture by charged particles of bundle-plasma discharged and successive selection of the most active variants of producer. Culture placed into polyethylene chamber is irradiated by electrons with energy 350-400 KeV by doses up to 2,5 Mrad under atmospheric pressure following by effect of pulse X-rays with quantum energy 200-300 kEv. As a result, activity of producer is increased by 20% and remains stable. By use of proposed method the initial biological activity of bacitracin producer (strain A-81) is increased from 640 U/ml to 770 U/ml. By modifying dose irradiation by electrons and quantum energy of X-rays bremsstrahlung it is possible, at multiple microorganisms treatment, to obtain strains of B. licheniformis producing enhanced yield of the end product. EFFECT: enhanced yield of antibiotic.
