FIELD: mining industry. SUBSTANCE: isolating ice belt is formed in worked out space. Water is saturated with gaseous methane before sprinkling. Sprinkling of water is performed in stream of gaseous methane, alternating its delivery with feed of liquid gas. Saturation with water is carried out under increased pressure of methane as compared with atmospheric one. Methane for this purposes is pumped out from worked out space or coal pillars. EFFECT: improved efficiency of fire control. 4 cl, 1 dwg
