FIELD: mining industry. SUBSTANCE: method for location of underground fire seats includes determination of concentration of indicating gases at different depths and isolines of gas concentration are constructed on vertical projection running through projection of fire seat on the surface and points on the boundary of gas anomaly remote from one another at maximum distance. Fire seat is determined in the point with maximum value of concentration of indicating gases. Hole drilling and measurement of indicating gases are discontinued as soon as background values are obtained or at persistent reduction of gas concentration. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 3 cl, 1 dwg
