FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: wheelchair comprises chassis 1 of any conventional type and chair 2. Chair 2 consists of seat 3 connected by joint 4 with footrest 5 and chassis 1 and by joint 6 with backrest 7 fitted with elbow rests 8. Backrest 7 is connected to footrest 5 by rail 9 which, in turn, is connected by joints 10 and 11 with footrest 5 and backrest 7, respectively. Rail is controlled by rod of hydraulic cylinder rigidly installed on seat 3. Said seat 3 and footrest 5 are provided with locks which connect them with chassis 1. Locks have the form of locking hooks installed by articulated joints on chassis 1. Depending on position of handle the locking hooks engage shackles. EFFECT: wider functional capabilities achieved by ensuring horizontal position of backrest and footrest. 6 dwg
