FIELD: biochemical technology. SUBSTANCE: L-serine is produced from novel Brevibacterium flavum hybrid cell strains, BKПM B-5506 and B-5702. The strains are isolated from known Brevibacterium flavum strains BKПM B-2403, B-3559 and ATCC 14067 by protoplast fusion technique with subsequent postfusinal screening of L-serin superproducers. The Brevibacterium flavum strain BKПM B-5506 is resistant to rifampicin, streptomycin azaadenine, alfa-methylserine, O-methylserine and ethionine. The Brevibacterium flavum strains BKПM B-5702 is resistant to rifampicin, streptomycin, azaadenine, alfa-methylserine, O-methylserine, ethionine, canamycin as well as sulfaguanidine. EFFECT: high yield of L-serin. 1 ex
