FIELD: mechanical engineering; engines. SUBSTANCE: high pressure system of diesel engine has injectors with high-pressure pipes, fuel injection pump with housing, end cover, barrel and plunger, delivery, suction and drain channels and mechanism to provide reciprocating of plunger. Fuel injection pump has sleeve with projection on inner surface installed coaxially with plunger barrel. Made in plunger barrel is through cut to receive projection of movable sleeve for engagement with side surface of plunger. Delivery channel is made in housing wall. Through delivery channel is made in projection of movable sleeve; through drain channel made in movable sleeve wall communicates with drain channel in housing and in plunger barrel. Amount of fuel delivery during operation cycle is limited by space of plunger barrel between upper edges of plunger barrel drain channel and through delivery channel made in movable sleeve projection.
