FIELD: medicine; ophthalmology. SUBSTANCE: rheoophthalmogram was obtained on respective side of frontal-and- orbital region and rheographic and photoplethysmographic coefficients were calculated. Obtained data were compared with average indices of test group and eye blood supply deficiency index (ratio of photoplethysmographic coefficient to rheographic one) was calculated. Several versions of assessing investigation results were employed by researchers. Fall-off in eye rheographic parameters and normal or excessive photoplethysmographic indices enabled researchers to conclude that cause of eye blood supply deficiency was of intraocular nature. Combination of decrease in rheographic and photoplethysmographic parameters and normal eye blood supply deficiency index made researchers infer that disorder in hemodynamics was brought about by extraocular causes. If eye blood supply deficiency index was higher than normal in the second version, it should be inferred that was the case of intraocular pathology against background of extraocular causes of blood flow reduction. EFFECT: higher accuracy of results of studying eye blood supply system.
