FIELD: metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: magnetic alloy for oxidizing roasting of the invention contains (in atomic % ): copper 0.5-2; molybdenum 0.5-5; columbium 0.001-4.5; silicon 12-18; boron 7-12; iron - the balance, with molybdenum and columbium accounting in aggregate for 2-5% (atomic). In order to attain the highest magnetic permeability after the air annealing, it is necessary to have the ratio of molybdenum to molybdenum and columbium content of 0.5. The annealing produces an alloy having in its structure at least 50% of lower than 100 nm crystals. The method for the alloy production includes forming a thin molybdenum oxide layer on a band surface. The thickness of the layer is at least 5 nm. The layer prevents internal oxidation of the alloy after the oxidizing annealing. The annealing is carried out at 500-650 C for 1-100 minutes. It is possible to anneal the alloy at the solidification temperature. The heating and cooling rates are 1-100 C/min. The heating and cooling may be carried out in a magnetic field. Prior to coiling into a core, an 0.5-5 microns thick insulation layer is applied to the band surface. EFFECT: improved properties of the alloy. 14 cl, 1 tbl, 1 dwg
