FIELD: quantum electric engineering. SUBSTANCE: voltage is applied to discharge gas electrodes. Then convection pumping of working gas is performed through discharge gap in opposite to direction of electric field. Additional portion of gas is blown through perforated dielectric plate into area of discharge being close to cathode. Gas is blown through with some speed. Component V1 being normal to the direction of working gas flux is found from the relation l/bV0<V1<0,1 V0, where L is cathode layer length, b is size of perforated plate in the direction of working medium flux, V0 is velocity of working medium flux. Additional gas has lower values of close-to-cathode potential, normal density of electric current and has larger value of thermal conductivity comparing with corresponding values of working gas. EFFECT: improved efficiency. 1 dwg
