FIELD: gaseous-discharge devices. SUBSTANCE: molecules are added into heavy inert gas which later are excited to such degree that number of excited molecules exceeds that of unexcited. In this case non-equilibrium function of distribution of electrons by their energies in region of Ramsauer minimum of section of shape-elastic scattering by atoms of inert gas is formed. Given function of distribution of electrons by their energies exists till source of excitation of oscillations of molecules exists. With this negative conductance exists practically under stationary condition. EFFECT: prolonged existence of negative conductance in gas-filled cell.
