SUBSTANCE: method for preparation of double faces includes determination of rational length of double face, driving of intermediate development spaced from worked-out space at distance equalling rational face length with subsequent determination of areas of zone with unstable roof rocks within developed pillars. The value of ratio of total area of zones with unstable roof rocks within the pillar worked by the second face is used to determine the length of the second face.
