FIELD: production of glue and gelatin. SUBSTANCE: new method of preparing starting bone stock for production of glue and gelatin prescribed comminuting bone stock, treating it with water heated to point of 90 to 95 C during 2 h in the presence of compounds of trisodium phosphate and sodium hydroxide with fat admixed with water obtained in defatting step, separating bone stock from liquid phase, defatting it with trisodium phosphate solution having concentration of 1.0 to 5.0 % and sodium hydroxide having pH value of 11 to 12 during 1 or 2 h at temperature of 85 to 90 C, ratio of liquid phase to bone stock being 2.0 to 2.5 : 1.0, separating liquid phase from defatted bone stock, and washing bone stock using phosphoric acid solution at pH value of 5 to 7 and temperature of 30 to 60 C or phosphoric acid solution having pH value not greater than 1 to 3. pH value was then increased to 5 to 7 using trisodium phosphate solution. EFFECT: higher quality of starting material.
