FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: glass ampoule holder includes body and head portion which are fitted to one another by virtue of two hinge strips and fracture portion. Glass ampoule must be fitted in mouth of ampoule holder body base by end portion forward as far as behind inwardly pointed protrusions until lower end of ampoule move past these protrusions and shoulder in ampoule upper portion butts against bent hinge to enable ampoule base portion to rise above protrusions. Ampoule end portion is gripped by inner ribs or ridges in ampoule holder head portion so that ampoule neck is brought into coaxial alignment with fracture portion. In order to obtain access to ampoule content, holder is gripped by two hands and pressure is exerted on gripper surface by fingers of ampoule holder head portion so that fracture portion is broken in region of ampoule neck when head portion is bent backward owing to hinge strips.
