FIELD: machining. SUBSTANCE: the cutting tool has a holder, whose seat accommodates the cutting member secured by a tie intended for engagement with its main and auxiliary rear surfaces. The tie and cutting member are located in the holder proceeding from the condition of arrangement of the contact spot between them in the area of intersection of the main and auxiliary rear surfaces of the cutting member with its bearing surface.
