FIELD: electrorocket motors. SUBSTANCE: plasma cathode-compensators based on gaseous working media are intended for neutralization of ion beam in electrorocket motors. Cathode-compensator has thermal emitter 4 placed into body 2 with protective layer 10 deposited on it, spiral heater 6 with support ring 7, insulation bushing 18, system of thermal screens 11, getter 15, tube 13 for supply of gas, electric insulator 17 in filament circuit of spiral heater. Central channel 5 of thermal emitter has continuous wall and communicates with space of holder 3 over through channels 8 in side wall of thermal emitter and longitudinal grooves 9 made in side surface of thermal emitter. Space of holder communicates with tube 13 for supply of gas through sealed space 14 formed with thermal screens installed coaxially.
