FIELD: analytical chemistry. SUBSTANCE: analyzed specimen is dissolved in ethanol. To prepared solution the following reagents are added successively: 2 ± 0,2% solution of o-tolidine in polar aprotonic solvent and alkaline solution of hydrogen peroxide obtained by mixing of 20 ± 2% solution of hydrogen peroxide with 0,1 ± 0,02 N alkali solution at ratio 2: 1. Volume ratio of specimen solution, o-tolinide and alkaline solution of hydrogen peroxide is 50: 1: 2. Colored solution obtained is determined quantitatively by photometry at wavelength 410 ± 5 nm.
