FIELD: electrical power engineering. SUBSTANCE: pin-type insulator is composed of insulation part in the form of petticoat 1 with cap 2 and rib 3 of pin anchored in insulation part. Outer part 6 of petticoat 1 is produced smooth up to rib 3. Optimum geometrical dimensions of insulator are chosen in design of it so as to obtain technical characteristics at level of those of insulator type ШФ-20 but with smaller dimensions and mass.
